About
The Mouse Oral Microbiome Project (MOMP) is a mouse model study looking at how the microbial community of the mouth responds to nutrient compositions of different diets. In this study, mice were fed diets with varying ratios of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, as well as different amounts of total calories. The oral microbiomes of these mice have been sequenced and will be analyzed to see whether there is an effect of diet composition or calory intake on the microbial species present within the mouth. This research will potentially provide valuable information for understanding how nutrition can impact human health and disease.
